ABOUT ME
"When I'm working on a problem I never think about beauty, I only think about how to solve the problem. But when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it's wrong."(R. Buckminster Fuller)
Fueled by my many years of studio experience, I bring a multidisciplinary approach to the design process. This experience has guided my awareness and approach to problem solving- it is reflected in the contents of this web site (and in me as a person). The work that I do is not a means to an end, but the beginning of a journey of self understanding. It began a long time ago when I started to think about how people communicate information and how they interpret information. Both of these processes are sensory in nature. My purpose, as a designer and organizer, is to develop (creative) solutions that address the cognitive processes that underlie communication and interpretation. Like Fuller's statement above, the beauty of a well solved problem is implicit in the results. With experience comes a greater understanding of the nature of communication, and thus a greater understanding of self. The journey continues...
For the past twelve years, I have been working as a user interface designer and developer — responsible for conceptual and practical design development for a wide range of business and industry needs. Originally from France, I speak three languages and enjoy traveling to far-away places.

ABOUT WEB STANDARDS
"We should work toward a universal linked information system, in which generality and portability are more important than fancy graphics techniques and complex extra facilities."(Tim Berners-Lee)
This site is built using standards compliant DHTML. I decided to adopt "web standards" after spending years code-forking for all the various Internet enabled devices on the market. This improved version of Welterlin.com uses semantic XHTML markup for structured content, CSS for presentation, and JavaScript for behaviors. For those of you who are just dying to know what I'm talking about, read about the Web Standards Project.
